Know your ideal mattress comfort or firmness level

Beds come in a range of firmness options or mattress comfort levels. It can be confusing to decide whether you prefer a firm or soft mattress. Our guide will help you to understand the difference.

Available comfort options

Sealy Posturepedic mattresses have a wide variety of comfort layers and technology. Our base comfort options range from Ultra Firm to Ultra Plush to relieve pressure and cushion the body. No matter which Posturepedic model you prefer, we have a comfort level to suit you.

Plush and Ultra Plush

These softer options are popular with side sleepers, who benefit from more cushioning on their hips and shoulders. This comfort option also leans toward the warmer side, as the deeply cushioning surface envelops the body. If you’re unsure if a plush is right for you, try our Mattress Selector for a tailored recommendation.

Medium options

A Medium comfort level offers the best of both worlds, combining quality foams that cushion and relieve pressure points while providing support for all types of sleeping positions. A Medium bed is  popular choice for guest bedrooms, as this firmness choice can accommodate most sleepers.

Ultra Firm and Firm options

Often a popular choice for back or front sleepers, the firmer choices utilise dense foams that provide cushioning and an ultra-firm feel. These mattresses typically feature a TightTop or non-gusseted construction that holds you aloft on the sleep surface. As a result, some people prefer a firm mattress for its naturally cooler environment.
