taking care of your sealy posturepedic mattress
The main way to prolong the life of your mattress is to use an appropriate bed base. Sealy bases are designed to work with your mattress by absorbing stress and boosting support. A Sealy base will help your mattress to withstand wear and tear to the highest degree over the life of your warranty.
It is also important to keep your mattress clean so that it continues to stay fresh and perform as intended. We recommend the use of a mattress protector — a waterproof cover may be useful for children’s beds. Avoid leaving the mattress exposed in direct sunlight, as this is likely to fade the fabric over time.
Here are a few more tips that can help prolong your mattress’s lifespan:
- Use the Sealy Posturepedic handles (where fitted) for repositioning purposes only; they are not designed for lifting or carrying the mattress.
- Avoid letting anyone jump on your mattress. We test all of our mattresses for normal wear and tear, accounting for ten years of a person using the bed to sit and sleep.
- While tempting, please try to avoid removing the tag at the end of your mattress. Pulling or ripping anything off of a mattress border can compromise fabric seams.
